Melody Valerie Turns Four

Yes, that’s right, it’s our birthday! Four years ago, we first opened our doors on Etsy.com. It’s been an amazing time, and some of you probably remember those early dresses. Like the Joie de Vivre — our very first sale! (It was so exciting…!)

Or the Statement in Taffeta, from 2009; a lush concoction of taffeta and silk.

2010 saw our first forays into explicitly themed collections, with stripes for the summer and a travel-themed fall line (Voyages).

In 2011, collections got even more tightly themed, both in terms of color and concept. We also ventured into hats and scarves with our Christmas collection, a delightful way to shake things up!

So far, 2012 has shaped up to be a great year. Our craftsmanship has only continued to improve. Our latest collection, “Diaphanous”, was technically and artistically challenging, but also extremely satisfying. Nothing like tackling slippery fabrics, and winning!

What lies ahead for Melody Valerie Couture?

We’re not exactly sure either. But we know it will stay true to our core values: wholesome design, impeccable craftsmanship, and luxurious materials. Dresses so beautiful, they completely reset your expectations of what doll couture can be.

Thanks for coming along with us. It’s been an amazing last four years, and we can’t wait to see what new adventures lie ahead for Melody Valerie in the months to come!

  1. Happy, happy belated birthday! If this were sent by phone, I’d play my flute for you. What a wonderful thing to celebrate. Lucky dolls! Lucky owners! Congratulations!!!!! I look forward to seeing what comes next and being inspired.

    • Oh Sherry, if only! I wish we could hear you play your flute 😀
Thanks for your kind wishes! We’re very excited for the future, too…
