Guess what? After a lot of hard work, “Betsy” is now available as a PDF sewing pattern (and just in time for the new year, too!)
This is a simple, clean-lined dress, and one of our first forays into knitwear. Probably its most distinctive feature is the crossed shoulder straps, which flow seamlessly into the skirt. But the softly ruched bodice is pretty fabulous too… And, using knit fabric means there are no closures — simple, step-into/pull-off construction makes dressing your doll super easy! No fighting with buttons, snaps, zippers or Velcro.
Make it in the long version from a metallic knit for a fabulous party gown, or pick the short skirt option for a fun sundress. The long version also features an optional ruffled petticoat — and both dresses feature a front yoke that’s the perfect spot to add embroidery or other embellishments.
